六六社 University nursing programs are for students who plan to obtain initial RN licensure and for students who already hold a registered nurse (RN) license.

Pre-licensure Programs

Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)

Be advised that to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse (RN), a graduate of the ASN nursing program must apply to take a national licensure examination for registered nurses (NCLEX­ RN) and apply for licensure in the state where the graduate wants to work as a professional registered nurse. A graduate is required to pass the NCLEX-RN before state licensure can be granted. For information on how to apply for a Nursing License by Exam in Massachusetts, .

Those students who wish to practice outside of Massachusetts should contact the State Board of Registration in Nursing for the state where they reside for further information and requirements for licensure (see ). At this time, the BPU ASN program meets the requirements for licensure in all US states except Maine, Michigan, Nevada, and Wisconsin.

Graduates of the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) at 六六社 University will meet the academic requirements to sit for the National Council Licensure Exam for RNs (NCLEX-RN®). This test is offered by Pearson Vue, the organization that administers the NCLEX-RN exam for the National Council State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).

Direct Entry Master of Science in Nursing (DE MSN)

Be advised that to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse (RN), a graduate or student that has completed the competencies to sit for the National Council Licensure Exam for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN®) must apply to take the national licensure examination for registered nurses (NCLEX-RN) and apply for licensure in the state where the graduate wants to work as a professional registered nurse. Post Licensure Programs

六六社 offers a number of post-licensure nursing programs. BPU programs include a  and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP). The post-licensure nursing programs are open to students with an unencumbered nursing license in all U.S. states. Those students who wish to practice outside of Massachusetts may contact the State Board of Registration in Nursing for the state where they reside for further information.

The 六六社 University DNP program with a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) specialization qualifies the graduate to sit for the national certification exams offered through the American Association Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC). The conferred degree, plus national certification will allow the graduate to apply for APRN (advanced practice nursing) licensure in all 50 states. However, graduates should check for any additional requirements outside of Massachusetts.

The Board of Registration in Nursing (MA BORN) in Massachusetts is the state agency that issues nursing licenses in Massachusetts. The mission of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing is to protect the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the Commonwealth through the fair and consistent application of the statutes and regulations governing nursing practice and nursing education. Be advised that by current Massachusetts law, the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing (MABORN) may discipline or refuse licensure to applicants with certain arrests, misdemeanors, and felonies. All applicants should review the information provided on the MABORN licensure or in the state you plan to license in.
